In an effort to keep citizens safe, the Meridian Police Department encourages anyone who makes an online purchase or is selling goods, to use our parking lot to complete the transaction in person. While the parking lot won’t always have an officer present the area, it is under video surveillance 24 hours a day.
Please also follow these safety tips:
- Complete transactions during daylight hours.
- Do not provide personal information such as a home address.
- Only pay or accept a payment of cash or through payment apps such as Venmo or Apple Pay.
- Reconsider any transaction if the other party refuses to meet at the police department.
Community members using our parking lot are not required to check in unless they are buying or selling a gun. For gun transactions, please check in with reception during normal business hours.
